Nexdane Cloud Gateway

The Nexdane Cloud Gateway collects telemetry from field devices over Modbus and IEC 60870-5-104, buffers it, and forwards it securely to the Nexdane cloud. It is the piece that gets substation and RTU data off-site — without the customer having to build and run their own collection infrastructure.

Reads Modbus TCP/RTU and IEC 60870-5-104 from existing field equipment
DNP3 and MQTT supported too — everything normalised into one cloud stream
Store-and-forward buffering, so a dropped link loses no readings
Encrypted, outbound-only connection — no inbound ports opened on site
Configured and health-checked remotely from the Nexdane cloud
Runs on a small on-site host, or as a cloud-hosted collector for IP-reachable devices
CLOUD GATEWAY — gw-uk-shf-01
● link: TLS 1.3 → cloud   CONNECTED
Modbus TCP   3 devices   OK
IEC 60870-104 2 links   OK

GridSync Cloud Platform

GridSync is the web dashboard where the collected telemetry lands. Live and historical views of every connected site, alarm notifications, and an API to push the readings into the customer's own systems — reachable from anywhere, nothing to install on the operator's side.

Live and historical views of every connected substation and RTU
Configurable alarms with email and webhook notifications
Historian with retention, plus CSV and API export
REST API to stream readings into the customer's own tools
One multi-site view across every gateway in the estate
Role-based access for the customer's operations team

Secure Connectivity

The connection between a gateway and the cloud is the sensitive part, so we keep it narrow. Every link is encrypted and outbound-only, with per-site credentials and no listening services on the customer's OT network — aligned with IEC 62443 principles for remote connectivity.

TLS-encrypted transport for all gateway-to-cloud traffic
Outbound-only: no inbound ports or listening services on the OT network
Per-gateway credentials, rotatable and individually revocable
Read-oriented collection — the gateway pulls telemetry, it is not a control path
Each customer's data kept segregated in the cloud
Aligned with IEC 62443 principles for OT connectivity
CONNECTIVITY — gw-uk-shf-01
transport: TLS 1.3   SECURE
direction: outbound-only   ENFORCED
inbound ports open: 0
credential: per-site key   VALID

Integration & Support

Our engineering team works alongside your operations staff to ensure seamless deployment and ongoing reliability.

Site & Protocol Survey

We map the field devices at each site, the protocols in play (Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104), and exactly which readings you want in the cloud.

Gateway Onboarding

We install and configure the gateway, connect it to the cloud, and verify each tag is flowing correctly before the site goes live.

Managed Monitoring

Optional: we keep an eye on the incoming telemetry and alert you when a gateway drops off or a reading moves outside its expected range.
